Part 1

Orion Samuelson and Max Armstrong recorded this week's show from the 2017 Farm Progress Show and they kicked off this episode talking with Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue, who talks trade and more. And Farm Broadcaster Steve Bridge, WFMB Radio, Springfield, Ill., who talks about the show and issues impacting farmers in that part of the country.

Orion Samuelson and Max Armstrong talk markets with Ken Eriksen, Informa Economics. In Samuelson Sez, Orion Samuelson shares responses he got to his question "What is a family farm?" and generated some interesting responses. And Agricultural Meteorologist Greg Soulje looks at weather for the Western United States.

Part 3

Orion Samuelson and Max Armstrong continue their Farm Progress Show edition with a look using switchgrass for energy production in a report from Jamie Johansen. Orion and Max talk about what it means to come to the Farm Progress Show.

Part 4

Orion Samuelson and Max Armstrong open this segment talking with Chip Bowling, chairman of the National Corn Growers Association, who is also involved with the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance. Bowling talks about the new film Food Evolution. Chip and Max also talk about some policy issues that are top of mind for farmers. Ag Meteorologist Greg Soulje looks at weather for the Eastern United States. And in Max's Tractor Shed, Max looks at the Half Century of Progress that drew more than 4,000 pieces of machinery including a 1919 Russell - a 12-24 known as The Boss and owned by Steve Linker, Malden, Ill.

Orion Samuelson and Max Armstrong wrap up this week's episode from the Farm Progress Show, with a report from Jamie Johansen who looked at an interesting soil health demonstration - Soil Your Undies. It's a memorable display from the show.
