Part 1

Max Armstrong and Mike Pearson are remembering last year’s derecho and looking at what weather is handing crops. Max talks with Randy Blach of Cattlefax about how the cattle industry is faring these days from the Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show. Mike talks with Brian Hoops of Midwest Market Solutions about this week’s crop yield report, focusing on the very surprising corn numbers that took quite the tumble sparking another rally.

Part 2

Brian Hoops of Midwest Market Solutions rejoins Mike to talk about the spring wheat numbers which surprised the markets in a bad way and then they turn to soybeans which were consistent with expectations. In the Colby Ag Tech segment Chad Colby looks at the Big Bud, the world’s largest tractor which got the latest tech in tires. It will be at the Farm Progress Show this year.

Part 3

Max again reports from the Cattle Industry Convention, this time discussing legislation affecting the cattle industry with Allison Ribera of the NCBA.

Part 4

Max and Mike introduce a report from Willie Vogt who is in the field on the Dekalb “Winning Has Roots” van tour, talking about corn research and how Dekalb is controlling the weather to stress corn plots on purpose.

Part 5

Agricultural Meteorologist Greg Soulje returns to take a look at the long-range weather picture.

Part 6

In Max’s Tractor Shed, Max introduces “Henry” a 1950 Ford 8N owned by Gene Millard of St Joseph, Mo, a long-time radio voice for agriculture in the region. In the FFA Chapter Tribute Mike Pearson chats with Emily Hoyt, Missouri State FFA Secretary. She is getting ready for school to start, she’s ready to get back to a real year of school. In Samuelson Sez, Orion Samuelson is looking at how California’s Proposition 12 challenges continue to fail and what that means for producers around the country.

Part 7

Max and Mike answer frequently asked questions about the Farm Progress Show and the Half Century of Progress Show.
