On the Fourth of July, the state of Illinois moved a step closer to getting a budget. The citizens moved a step closer to a 32% state tax increase.

Fireworks accidents last night and days leading up to the Fourth occurred all over. In Louisville, Ky., two young boys ages 6 and 8 were hurt. In Swisher, Iowa, a four-month-old baby and her mother were injured. Firefighters from many communities were working in central Iowa overnight.

Crop Progress reports out later today. Will focus on North, South Dakota, area that has been the driest. Temperatures are forecast to be hot. Rain in later stages of soybean crop can be beneficial. 14% of U.S. soybean crop is produced in the Dakotas. The grain market has come to life in first week of July, stay tuned.
