Max Armstrong talks about snow in Chicago. (audio)

The storm predictions may have fizzled out for some communities. Snow totals are better than a foot in spots. Chicago will be especially hard hit. Airports were packed before snow cancellations. Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan are among places with school closings. To remind us how snowy this month can be, 7 years ago Chicago had 29 inches of snow in February.

Keep an eye on the corn crop in South America. This second corn crop in Brazil will have smaller acreage than intended. In Argentina, there’s dryness that could shave the yields. Could turn around supply situation in the world.

Those snowy owls must be liking this winter. Some have been hit by cars in southern Minnesota. Why have so many of them come down? They are searching for food.
