Health officials in our region are concerned about flu outbreak in Australia. Medical experts here watch to see effectiveness of flu vaccine. It was about 10% effective. It was 33% effective across all strains.

There’s a crop report coming out next Tuesday. Allendale says no changes in corn, soybean and wheat production expected in that report. Amount of corn used for ethanol expected to be increased. Think soybean exports cut. Wheat have lower export estimate.

Tragedy shaken many of his friends in northwest Illinois. There was pipeline explosion not far east of Dixon, Illinois, killed two people and injured two others. Pipeline had to be shut off and it was four hours before fire could be extinguished. Crews were installing tile when tractor became stuck.
