What a difference a year makes. Last year the first week of March it was very cold in parts of our region. In Nebraska, readings were 30 degrees below average. This week, with much warmer temperatures, red flag warnings were posted because of the fire threat.

TheĀ mortgage rate is lowest in 50 years that Freddie Mac has been tracking rates at 3.29%.

Also on the economic front, the jobs report out today puts unemployment rate at 3.5%, which is also the lowest in more than 50 years. Those job growth numbers may have been inflated a bit because came in before coronavirus fears arose.

Some farm industry meetings postponed or canceled because of coronavirus. A dairy producer meeting is postponed.

At Humane Animal Shelter in Kansas, a party was thrown for Merrick, who lived at the shelter for five years.
