Max Armstrong offers insight on the cancellation of the 2019 World Pork Expo.

May 3, 2019

Max Armstrong looks at the history of the World Pork Expo. While it’s canceled in 2019, the event was also canceled in 2001 when there was concern about foot-and-mouth disease. The World Pork Expo draws about 20,000 visitors over three days; including those from countries impacted by African Swine Fever and there’s a fear it could spread. Max shares insight from the National Pork Producers Council, that experts said there was minimal risk from the event, but the group moved with an abundance of caution.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
