Max Armstrong reports on the boom in lumber prices, but it's not benefitting timber growers

March 3, 2021

Max Armstrong looks at the timber industry and the demand for wood. The pandemic delivered an unexpected boon to the industry as homeowners dove into remodeling projects, and low interest rates has led to a building boom too. Max reports that the timber growers in the South are getting paid some of the lowest prices on record while the mills benefit from the timber price rise.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
