Max Armstrong offers a look at the last time inflation rates were high – the 1980s.

Max Armstrong shares insight about the last time inflation rates were high. Max points to a story by John Otte, retired ag economics writer for Farm Progress, looking back on how those early rates back in the 1980s and how it impacted land prices and more. Those changing inflation rates back then drove a push to sell land, which sometimes led to bankruptcy. But Otte points out that today while interest rates are higher they’re low compared to historical standards.
