Topigs Norsvin CEO announces departure

Martin Bijl, chief executive cfficer of Topigs Norsvin, has announced that he will be leaving the company at the end of August. He has accepted a position in the executive board of Royal Barenbrug Group, a family-owned and leading international grass and forage seed company.

“Under Martin’s leadership, Topigs has joined forces with Norsvin, and Topigs Norsvin has been transformed into a successful high-tech and world-leading swine genetics company. I’d like to thank him personally, and on behalf of the supervisory board, for his contribution to Topigs Norsvin over the past 11 years,” says Mark Tijssen, chairman of Topigs Norsvin.

“It has been a tremendous honor to serve Topigs Norsvin during an interesting period of transformation and growth,” says Bijl. “I am very proud to have worked with great colleagues around the world to achieve our current position as a world-leading swine genetics company. I have every confidence that the company will accelerate even more in the years to come.”

A search for a new chief executive officer will start in due course. Bijl will continue to lead Topigs Norsvin for the next few months and further realize the master plan formulated in 2017. After his departure at the end of August, Hans Olijslagers (CTO) and Cor van Hertrooij (CFO) will lead Topigs Norsvin until a new CEO joins the company.
