’Tis the season of giving, and pig farmers have become very good at giving of themselves and their wholesome product.

Pork producers give all year long, but they really kicked it in gear on Nov. 27 (Giving Tuesday) with the start of the third annual Hams Across America campaign, with the goal to highlight the many diverse product donations the pork industry makes throughout the year. Pig farmers and those involved in the pork industry are encouraged to extend Giving Tuesday through Dec. 23 with Hams Across America. Individuals can participate by purchasing a gift of ham and paying it forward to loved ones and those in need. Participants are encouraged to share their pay-it-forward stories on social media using #RealPigFarming and #HamsAcrossAmerica.

From individuals, to production systems to state pork organizations, the giving spirit is alive and well, as shown through this slideshow of caring. As you see, giving isn’t restricted to hams and other pork products; the giving extends to wherever there is a need. This is by no means meant to be an all-inclusive slideshow, but a mere glimpse into the giving that occurs.

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas to you all!
