Senate RFS Hearing

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee plans to hold hearings on the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) in September.  The hearings are to address issues concerning the RFS.

Following up on the recent House Energy and Commerce Committee’s two-day RFS hearings, committee chairman Congressman Fred Upton (R-MI) has tasked four Republican committee members to take the lead on reforming the federal biofuels mandate.  The members are Congressmen John Shimkus (R-IL), Cory Gardner (R-CO), Lee Terry (R-NE) and Steve Scalise (R-LA).   The group will work on policy proposals to reform the RFS, not to repeal it.
