NPPC inducts Caspers into Hall of Fame

Jon Caspers, a pork producer from Swaledale, Iowa, was inducted into the National Pork Producers Council’s Hall of Fame for his “steady leadership and dedication” to the U.S. pork industry at the organization’s annual business meeting – the National Pork Industry Forum – held in San Antonio, Texas.

Caspers is co-owner and general manager of Pleasant Valley Pork Corp., a farrow-to-finish operation. Past president of NPPC and former member of its board of directors, Caspers served on many of the organization’s committees and task forces, including the committees on Swine Health, Science, Trade, National Swine Center Oversight and the task force on Price Discovery.

Caspers also is past president of the Iowa Pork Producers Association and served on its board of directors for many years. He also served for and moved up the ranks of the board of directors of the U.S. Meat Export Federation. In 1993, he was named a Pork All-American for Iowa.
