New Product Tour 2020 goes virtual

Though World Pork Expo 2020 has been canceled, the New Product Tour will live on.

For the second year in a row, the National Pork Producers Council has decided to cancel the World Pork Expo. While last year's version was canceled to reduce the risk of African swine fever reaching the U.S. swine herd, World Pork Expo 2020 has now been canceled due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The New Products Tour hosted by National Hog Farmer, and traditionally held in conjunction with World Pork Expo, allows companies to showcase their latest products to help producers save money and improve efficiency. Though World Pork Expo 2020 has been canceled, the New Product Tour will live on, just taking on a different look and feel. A panel of pork industry experts will pore over documentation on the new products, keeping in mind how each product would benefit the producer.

As part of National Hog Farmer's Global Hog Industry Virtual Conference on May 27, respective company representatives will present a two-minute video or sales pitch to the panel of judges, after which the judges will be able to ask questions about the product in the style of TV's "Shark Tank." Producers and other industry stakeholders will be able to tune in to the product presentations and Q&A sessions during the Virtual Conference.

Take a look at this slideshow of the products taking part in this year's New Product Tour. Keep in mind that you can vote for the "Producers Choice" winner by clicking here after you take a look at these promising new products.
