Meat Groups to Merge

The members of the American Meat Institute (AMI) voted unanimously last week to support the merger with the North American Meat Association (NAMA). 

AMI’s Chairman, Greg Benedict said, “This is a positive development and one that stands to serve our industry well.” 

NAMA’s membership had voted earlier this year in favor of the merger. 

The merger will officially occur on January 1, 2015.

Prior to joining the Bockorny Group, Scott served as director of national relations for Farmland Industries Inc., as well as USDA’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Congressional Affairs (1993-96), serving as liaison for the Secretary of Agriculture and the USDA to Congress.
