Congressman Peterson was instrumental in the passage of the last two farm bills. Congressman Rodney Davis (R-IL) won the Republican primary in Illinois last week for the 13th congressional district in which he faced two challengers. He is a freshman member of the House Agriculture Committee.

The race for Congress in this district will be one of the most contested elections this November.
