Export Promotion Allocations

USDA announced that the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has awarded FY 2013 funding to more than 70 U.S. agricultural organizations to help expand commercial exports markets. 

Under the Foreign Market Development (FMD) program, FAS will provide $25.4 million to trade organizations that represent U.S. agricultural producers.  The organizations, which contribute 183% cost share, will conduct activities that help maintain or increase demand for U.S. agricultural commodities overseas; $172.7 million was awarded to 70 nonprofit organizations and cooperatives through the Market Access Program (MAP). 

MAP participants contribute an average of 171% match for generic marketing and promotion activities and a dollar-for-dollar match for promotion of branded products by small businesses and cooperatives.
