Fall is always a busy time of year, especially for farmers bringing in the year's crop. It's always busy on U.S hog farms, but fall can also stress the timetable as producers make sure their facilities are all secured before winter sets in. Also before winter arrives with a vengeance, now is the time to get the manure pits and lagoons emptied.

There's a lot to do before winter hits, and with this being 2020, can we truly be prepared for everything?

With all that is going on, there are some things, maybe of less immediate importance, that will be put aside maybe forever, maybe for later.

If I may be so bold, and please forgive me for a shameless plug, I would like to remind you of one thing to add to your "Save for Later Reference" file. Last Thursday National Hog Farmer hosted the latest version of our Global Hog Industry Virtual Conference, another full day of free educational seminars covering everything from packer slaughter capacity, to an update on the Pork Checkoff and the new AgView program, to what's ahead for hog prices and producer profitability.

With all going on in the world today, and within your own families and farms, we completely understand how this conference may not have been a priority last Thursday. Or maybe you were able to grab a little time and watch one or two of the sessions, but other sessions on the agenda piqued your interest.

No worries, regardless which camp you fall into, because the entire virtual conference is available on-demand. You have access to these sessions to watch at your leisure, on your own timetable, wherever, whenever you want. If you registered for last week's conference, you should have received easy access to the archived sessions.

What, you didn't register for the conference? Again, no worries. Click here for your passport to the full day of educational seminars from the Oct. 22 event, as well as access to sessions from previous Global Hog Industry Virtual Conferences brought to you by National Hog Farmer and the many sponsors who partnered with us to bring this programming to your computer.

All of the webinars included in these virtual conferences will be available for some time to come, so feel free to view and re-watch the sessions that interest you and share them with your employees. I'm sure that you should be able to find something of interest.
