Ted Sheely 1
Ted Sheely has more than 40 years of farming experience. Today he farms 8,700 acres in Kings County, Calif. in the heart of the San Joaquin Valley. He farms cotton, tomatoes, wheat, pistachios, garlic, wine grapes, safflower, barley and triticale. He has served in leadership roles in many agricultural groups. He is currently a director of Westlands Water District. He has been a pioneer in precision agriculture technology to increase production, efficiency and to improve crop quality. He received the 1999 High Cotton Award from the Cotton Foundation Farm and Farm Press and the University of Arizona 2006 Lifetime Achievement Award. He grew up in Arizona and received a bachelor of science degree from UA.
