Editor, National Hog Farmer
Cheryl Day is the editor of National Hog Farmer, after first joining the Feedstuffs editorial team in 2013 covering livestock news and markets.
A veteran of agriculture, Day has a broad experience in the industry. A ninth generation agriculture producer, she grew up in central Illinois getting her hands dirty exploring the world of agriculture through various family businesses that included beef production, pork production, crops, local feed mill and grain elevator.
After earning her degree in Ag-Business from Illinois State University, she returned to the farm. Day, along with her husband Mike, and two children Sierra 17 and Chayton 11, raise corn, soybeans and registered Angus Cattle in Illinois.
In her spare time, Day enjoys working with the next generation and empowering others to pursue his or her agricultural dream. She volunteers as a county 4-H leader, FFA Alumni and state breed association junior advisor.
Her dedication to the agriculture industry was recognized in 2010 when she was named the first America’s Farmers Midwest Farm Mom of the Year.
