Employee Care Toolkit for Your Farm

New from the Pork Checkoff, the Employee Care Toolkit provides assistance to build and retain a quality workforce, including:

•  Human Resource Department Starter Kit features easy-to-follow instructions, user guides, templates and presentations for creation and maintenance of personnel records, hiring team members and developing a performance management process to quickly add employees and protect the farm from legal risk.

•  On-the-job training program for all employees, adopting standard operating procedures and regular performance feedback tools.

•  Standard operating procedures help employees efficiently complete day-to-day tasks and help build a motivated and effective workforce.

•  “Managing people” workshops help establish an appropriate barn culture. The workshops engage sow farm and grow-finish managers on communication, conflict resolution and performance management.
