Swine medicine: Immovable object meets unstoppable forces

The U.S. highly efficient system of pork production is jeopardized by the inability to deal with infectious disease. Jeff Zimmerman, DVM and Iowa State University professor, delivered the Howard Dunne Memorial Lecture at the American Association of Swine Veterinarian annual meeting. He explains, “Swine veterinarians need to find ways to make the swine industry more agile and devise solutions that neutralize the power of infectious disease.”
