Kara Stewart, Purdue University associate professor in Animals Sciences, will present “Initial report of risk factors associated with sow prolapses,” followed by Tom Gillespie, swine veterinarian and diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, who will present, “When sows die: Using a meta-analysis.”

Both 30-minute presentations will include recently collected data on sows that direct both producers and veterinarians to possible solutions to sow longevity issues.

The seminars will be given in the Creighton Hall of Animal Sciences conference room as part of the Pork Interest Group student organization. Local and regional pork producers are welcome to attend.

The link for the webinar is the Purdue Animal Sciences TV, which will become active an hour prior to the webinars. Registration beforehand is not necessary and there is no cost to attend.
