Following a previous postponement announced last fall, the Pennsylvania Pork Producers Council (PPPC), along with event co-host PennAg Industries Association, shared this week that the popular Keystone Pork Expo will take place in 2021, but on a new date and at a new location. This move provides additional time for ongoing COVID-19 response efforts to take shape and keeps the health and safety of all those in attendance a top priority. This change also impacts Poultry Progress Day and the MidAtlantic Manure Summit, both held in conjunction with the Keystone Pork Expo.

“As we know all too well, COVID-19 has had other plans for many events over the last year and continues to impact those in 2021, including the Expo. We regularly talk about how Pennsylvania agriculture is ‘different,’ but who knew just how different things would be for our industry only a few short weeks after last year’s Expo, as the virus quickly spread across the state and country?” said PPPC executive director Jessica Darr.

She continued, “Both PPPC and PennAg have been hard at work to support our pig farmers, processors, and industry partners through the pandemic. Finding a way to host the Expo for the state’s pork industry has been a priority. We know that our producers and industry partners find great value in the event each year, and we’re hopeful that this shift to a new date and new location will be the solution to making this a reality.”

The new 2021 Keystone Pork Expo date is Wednesday, June 23, 2021, and the new location will be the Lebanon Valley Expo Center.

Attendees can count on this year’s Expo to include all the same great features expected from what’s quickly becoming Pennsylvania’s premier animal ag expo – quality educational sessions, outstanding keynote speakers, a robust trade show with a variety of vendors offering innovative and top of the line products, and more. Even better, the new venue allows for easier navigation around the complex for attendees and exhibitors alike, including more convenient set up access for the tradeshow. Plus, a great BBQ lunch will serve up tried and true favorites and ensure no one goes home hungry.

New in 2021, pre-registration will be strongly encouraged for the breakout sessions and lunch to allow for better preparation of meeting materials and food, and to accommodate any needed health and safety precautions. This will be a quick and simple process via an online registration system, plus, some great prizes will be given away randomly among those that pre-register. For anyone that does not have immediate internet access, a short call to the PennAg office will easily accommodate pre-registration needs.

Registration is expected to open in early March.
