The organizing committee of the International Conference on Nutrition of the Pig recently met and made the difficult decision to reschedule the event to Aug. 11-12, 2021.

In a statement sent by John Patience, conference chairman and Iowa State University Department of Animal Science professor, he writes that "It has become increasingly clear that numerous logistical issues associated with holding this conference later this year would be unmanageable. It is not at all certain that the situation with respect to the novel coronavirus will be sufficiently resolved by this August to permit the holding of the conference. Safety of our speakers and attendees was the highest priority, but travel logistics (we have five speakers travelling from Australia, China, Denmark and Spain), communications and facilities all played a role in this decision."

This event was scheduled to take place at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center in Ames, Iowa, on Aug. 25-26. The 2021 conference will now be held at the Scheman Building on the campus of Iowa State University.

Patience writes that the event's website will be updated to reflect the new dates, registration fees will be refunded to those who had already registered for this year's conference, and the program will be updated once speaker availability can be determined.
