The National Swine Registry, Certified Pedigreed Swine and American Berkshire Association announced today that The 2020 Exposition will be held June 7-13, 2020 in Indianapolis, Ind. at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Organizers say the change was a strategic decision to help mitigate a negligible risk of foreign animal disease with the live swine show that was previously held in conjunction with the World Pork Expo. All shows, sales, contests and events will proceed as normal.
The organizers say they appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as the organizations work collaboratively to update membership regarding the event.
The National Pork Producers Council canceled the 2019 World Pork Expo out of an abundance of caution as African swine fever remains a threat to the United States. Following that decision, the National Swine Registry announced The 2019 Exposition Open and Junior Show would continue June 2-8 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds with additional biosecurity requirements in place.
The National Swine Registry, Certified Pedigreed Swine and the American Berkshire Association, along with their junior organizations, the National Junior Swine Association and Team Purebred, are looking forward to continuing the excitement and prestige of The Exposition in Indiana. As more details are confirmed, membership will be informed through official communication channels.
The National Swine Registry, Certified Pedigree Swine and the American Berkshire Association will remain committed to upholding the highest standards of health regulations and biosecurity procedures at The Exposition.
