WPX Day 2: Worker Safety Tips Provided At World Pork Expo

If your operation doesn't have a worker safety program in place, where do you start to develop one?

Follow three simple steps, says Jim Lummus, Learning and Performance manager for the National Pork Board.
1. Conduct a safety assessment.
2. Identify gaps.
3. Make a plan to fill the gaps.

The Pork Board has developed "Pork Production Safety Systems" guidelines that are available for free at www.pork.org.

Lummus spoke at a Pork Academy seminar at World Pork Expo June 9 in Des Moines.
