How to Deal with Rising Feed Costs

As the outlook for feedstuffs continues to worsen with the widespread drought, the Pork Checkoff wants to remind producers of the management tips and resources that Pork Checkoff has compiled to assist them in identifying opportunities to increase on-farm efficiencies and reduce feed costs.

The most comprehensive tool is the 34-page booklet, Practical Ideas to Address High Feed and Production Costs. It is available online at pork.org in electronic form and at the Pork Store if print copies are desired.

The resource draws upon Checkoff research, the Pork Industry Handbook and other resources such as those found at the U.S. Pork Center of Excellence.

For more information, contact Chris Hostetler, Pork Checkoff's director of animal science at [email protected] or (515) 223-2606.
