“Bridging the Gap Between Animal Health and Human Health” is a conference designed to bring together those within agriculture, human medicine and the environmental communities to resolve antimicrobial use and resistance concerns.

Topics addressed include human health and antimicrobial resistance and antibiotics in food animal production and human health. Specific talks cover the impact of animal antibiotics on human medicine, new regulatory paradigms for the approval of antibiotics, understanding the impact of antimicrobial use in food animals and USDA initiatives and data on antimicrobial drug use and resistance on livestock facilities.
The Food and Drug Administration will present initiatives regarding the judicious use of antibiotics in food-producing animals.
The symposium is hosted by the National Institute for Animal Agriculture based in Colorado Springs, CO.
