Libby, MT, third-generation logger, agriculture advocate and speaker Bruce Vincent keynotes the 6th annual Workforce Development Seminar on Oct. 18, 2011 at the Country Inn & Suites, Mankato, MN.
Vincent will discuss society’s concerns about environmental and animal husbandry issues, followed by John Deen, DVM, University of Minnesota, explaining the methods and rationale for euthanasia on swine farms.
Darwin Reicks, DVM, Swine Vet Center, St. Peter, MN, will provide the latest information on barn filtering systems, their impact on employee morale and standard operating procedures for a biosecurity program in a filtered barn.
Following lunch, Donna Rae Scheffert, award-winning educator and consultant in leadership development, based in the Twin Cities (MN), will lead a hands-on, interactive workshop on tactics and strategies for handling conflict situations and preventing more conflict.
Vincent concludes the program with a talk on the value of agriculture to feed, clothe and shelter humanity, and its place in maintaining a healthy economy, protected planet and competent workforce.
