Kerns and Associates welcomes Polovin

Kerns and Associates announces the addition of Billy Polovin as the manager of the firm’s Chicago branch.

Polovin graduated from the Ohio State University in 1992 with a degree in economics. He first started at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange as a clerk for a small trading firm. Within six months, he became a trader of the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He had been an independent floor trader and a commodities broker in the lean hog futures and option pits for the last 24 years.

In 1997, Polovin started PoloTrading, a floor brokerage firm, where he had brokers in both the dairy and lean hog futures and options pits. The company specialized in producer and commercial options trading, advising and developing option strategies to maximize outcomes in the marketplace.

He will continue to hold his seat on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
