(Madison, Wis.) – Spencer Jones was recently hired as the Vita Plus swine business manager. Jones will provide leadership to the swine team as it supports customers, builds business and develops strong industry relationships. He will utilize record analysis with the goal of providing profitable recommendations to customers. Jones will also service progressive swine producers while helping his team do the same through operational troubleshooting, customized solutions and customer service.
Jones attended Kansas State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a master of science degree in ruminant nutrition. Prior to joining Vita Plus, Jones worked as the director of quality assurance for Iowa Select Farms. While there, he established a feed quality assurance program, directed a wean-to-finish research farm and oversaw optimum feeding programs with contract nutritionists. He also gained experience as a feed formulation specialist with Murphy-Brown, LLC and graduate research assistant at the Kansas State University Department of Animal Science and Industry. In addition to his experience in the swine industry, Jones is a member of the American Society of Animal Science, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the American Angus Association. He and his wife reside in Boone, Iowa.
