Unless there is a last minute reprieve, Ohio will put to death Gary Otte, originally from Indiana, who was convicted of killing two 25 years ago. Ohio has more than 2 dozen convicts awaiting death over the next three years.

Another bearish crop report yesterday. 169.9 corn and 49.9 for soybeans. Higher than traders expected.

Cars bought back from owners have been sitting in lots. A bunch were given fake titles and have turned up at auction in southern Indiana.

Longtime farmer Pete Nodlinski of Brule, Neb., will be 100 come December. Younger family members say they have learned so much from Pete over the years. He said he’s probably lived this long because they don’t have room for him up above.
