Authorities have identified the people killed in a plane crash in Illinois. The pilot was a crop duster.

Meanwhile, in Lake Erie, near Cleveland, emergency workers are trying to find the plane that went down there with six people aboard.

It will be later in the month before the 2016 milk production totals for the year are released, but data compiled from the first 11 months of the year show that dairy farms are milking more cows than the year before, with 17,000 more cows on farms in November 2016 than a year earlier. Cows are also producing more milk per cow. The top dairy state is California, with Wisconsin close behind. Also in the top 5: New York, Texas, Idaho.

President-elect Trump is reportedly close to naming his agriculture secretary. The latest reports have Sonny Perdue, former Georgia governor, in line to get the post. Few Southerners have held that post. The last was Mike Espy.
