When I last checked this morning, Amtrak's Empire Builder train was running about 21 hours late through Wisconsin on way to Chicago. The 30 BNSF workers dug out by hand to get the passenger train on its way.

On a Logan County, Tennessee, farm 73,500 birds were destroyed after highly pathogenic avian influenza was found on the farm. It ss genetically distinct from China's bird flu strain that has sickened birds and humans. The strain in Tennessee is from North American wild bird lineage.
