The University of Wisconsin (UW)-Extension will host the Midwest Manure Summit on Feb. 26-27 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Green Bay, WI. The event serves as a meeting place for dairy and livestock producers, government agency workers, agribusiness professionals, and educators who are interested in taking a closer look at manure processing and handling.

 Main topics include best management practices for reducing odor and emissions on Midwest dairies, dairy manure biochar as a phosphorus fertilizer, digester myths and misconceptions, and what has been learned about using recycled manure solids for dairy bedding, among other topics.

 Additional breakout sessions include digester economics, manure storage structure design, safety hazards, phosphorus removal and pathogens in manure.
