October is National Sausage Month and a survey conducted for the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council found that Americans favorite sausage is the Italian sausage followed by the breakfast sausage, Kielbasa and bratwurst. Preferences by regions of the country were Northeast – Italian; South – breakfast sausage; Midwest – bratwurst; and West – chorizo.
