Fate of Farm Bill Remains Tenuous

The fallout continues from last week’s defeat of the farm bill by the House of Representatives.  The fiscal year 2014 agriculture appropriations bill has been delayed until a later date as the House leadership determines a pathway forward with the 2013 farm bill.

Last week, the House Republican Caucus discussed how to move forward with the farm bill, but no decision was reached because of the varied opinions within the caucus.  The goal is to try and find a way to pass the bill in July.
