National Pork Board, in cooperation with National Hog Farmer, hosted “How to Succeed with the New Antibiotic Regulations” webinar Feb. 21, and an archived version of that webinar is now available for replay.

NPB’s Vice President of Science & Technology, Dave Pyburn, National Pork Producers Council Chief Veterinarian, Liz Wagstrom, and American Association of Swine Veterinarians Communications Director, Harry Snelson, each presented ways producers, veterinarians and feed mill operators can fine-tune steps for success under the Food and Drug Administration’s new antibiotic regulations that went into effect Jan. 1. Each of the presenters also answered questions from those who attended the webinar, representing some 23 countries.

The presentations and the follow-up question-and-answer session, all moderated by National Hog Farmer Editor, Cheryl Day, can be accessed online by clicking here

“We know FDA has done some on-farm inspections and we just want producers to have all the information available so these inspections to not have to be feared,” Pyburn says. In addition to the webinar now available to be replayed, National Pork Board also offers the Antibiotics Resource Center as a one-stop place to find information and resources about responsible antibiotic use on the farm.
